Critical Ops Flintlock MR96

A new weapon model I made for Critical Ops' pirate themed event Buccaneers. :) This is a skin for the MR96 revolver, it was super hard to design a revolver flintlocke that looked cool, fit the old MR96's animations and looked functional but luckily I had tons of help from my coworkers.

The sculpt by me. The original model for MR96 was made by Mira Kirjakainen (https://www.artstation.com/mirakirjakainen).

The final game-ready model by me, the sculpted wood looked too cartoony so it was replaced with a new wood material in Substance Painter.

LOD optimization by me. The reason some of the smaller details are preserved in the LODs is because the C-OPS skin system requires the geometry for correct projections.

I was having tons of trouble in the concepting phase so my coworker Jeremy Boyd (https://www.artstation.com/jeremy_boyd) who's a lifesaver did the heavy lifting of designing the proportions (top row). Then I made design variations based on real life.
